The Big Swim 2012
The Big Swim campaign, launched on January 9th, will see the biggest overhaul of swimming provision in the Hambleton district for six years. Supported by the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA), North Yorkshire Sport and British Olympian and Commonwealth Games 50m breaststroke gold medallist, Chris Cook, the initiative will see a year long celebration of swimming.
In the lead up to the Olympic Games, Hambleton's four leisure centres in Northallerton, Stokesley, Thirsk and Bedale will have a number of inspiring activities & events to help people get back into swimming, or encourage first-timers to learn to swim. There's something for everyone to dip their toes into!
The results of the Big Swim Survey, conducted last year, highlighted a number of areas for improvement. As a result, a number of actions have been taken to help enhance Hambleton residents' enjoyment of the swimming facilities offered. These included a full review & redesign of the swimming timetables, more lane swimming, more family sessions and the option of a money-saving family ticket. If you'd like to read more about our Big Swim Survey, the results and how we've used the feedback, please see the Big Swim Survey page.
The revamped Zest Swim timetables can be viewed online or downloaded as a PDF for your convenience.
